The contents of this manual were formatted using the markup language of the LaTeX typesetting system. Each chapter was written in its own ".tex" file, and Canthology was used to create a root ".tex" file that included all the other ".tex" files. Canthology then used pdflatex to generate PDF versions of the manual, and HeVeA to create a HTML version.

The main font used in the PDF versions of the manual is 10pt Times rather than the default Computer Modern fonts supplied with LaTeX. The decision to use Times was made because the author finds it easier to read on computer screens. Beramono (scaled to 80% of its normal size) is used as the typewriter-like font in examples.
